Performing Verdi

A series celebrating the centenary of the great opera composer Giuseppe Verdi. Opera critic Rodney Milnes talks to distinguished Verdi intrepreters about particular works or roles in the Verdi canon. Today conductor Edward Downes discusses Aida, the opera which Verdi wrote in 1870 forthe opening of a new opera house in Cairo.
