Fighting on the Beaches

on BBC Two England

An Open Door programme made by the Brighton and Hove Unemployed Workers' Union and Centre. We are not a tea and sympathy organisation. We are not here just to make unemployment more bearable. What we try to do is to organise the unemployed to use the only weapon that they've got ... their numbers.
Some people do 'like to be beside the seaside '. Not the 17,000 people living in and around Brighton who are out of work. This film has been made by unemployed people in Brighton, who are determined to fight back and to put an end to the contrast in the south east between poverty and affluence.
A public access programme made with the help of the COMMUNIUNITY PROGRAMME UNIT
