Families at War

on BBC Two England

The Choir. In 1969, Mervyn Lewers was a choir boy at
Londonderry Cathedral. Like all the other members of the choir, he was a Protestant in a city where the majority is
Catholic. When he grew older he joined the RUC and served for ten years. One night, after he'd left the force, he went for a drink with a friend. His car exploded and he lost his right leg. In tonight's programme Peter Taylor traces the fortunes of six boys in the choir of 1969. All of them have been touched and profoundly changed by 20 years of troubles.
