Since the end of the Gulf War in there have been repeated complaints from veterans of the Desert Storm campaign that they are suffering from illnesses as a result of their service in the Gulf. Scientists have now provided crucial new evidence that confirms the veterans are suffering from nerve damage. At the heart of the investigation is the mixture of drugs and vaccines given to service personnel to guard against chemical weapon attacks. The new findings could provide a boost to the service men and women suing the Ministry of Defence over their conditions. Susan Donald reports.
