A comedy-thriller in six parts by Maurice McLoughlin.
[Starring] John Slater
Johnny gave a lift in his lorry to a strange French girl, Sonia - and the result was her death and his narrow escape. The police, informed by Dr. Matthews, whose nursing-home the girl's body has been taken, are suspicious-of Johnny's shillelagh and of a newspaper cutting which names the dead girl as a dope addict. But Johnny convinces them of his innocence and while his lorry is being repaired visits a local music-hall where an illusionist named Ferrari is announced (according to photographs in the foyer) as appearing with Sonia. An interview with Ferrari leads Johnny nowhere; he returns to the nursing-home where, surprisingly, he finds Ferrari's other assistant Beryl. He offers her a lift - and there is another crash.
