Composer of the Week: Lully

Lully was always expected to eulogise his royal master Louis XIV in everything he wrote, whether it was forthe parade ground, the church orthe stage. Today Donald Macleod looks at some of the operas in which Lully depicted the "official history" of Louis's reign ingloriously mythological terms.
