This summer more than a million people have crammed into six of England's most famous football grounds - yet not a match has been played. They came to hear Billy Graham, the 20th-century's most famous evangelist, each sermon ending with his customary invitation to commitment. Once again, as in his first British campaign at Harringay 30 years ago, people streamed forward from the stands.
These meetings mark the climax of Mission England, a three-year campaign. Paul MacDowell joined the crowds at Villa Park in Birmingham for tonight's programme. Before Billy Graham speaks, Cliff Barrows introduces the local choir of 1,400 who lead the singing, together with soloists Myrtle Hall and George Beverly Shea.
