Salt Flat, Texas: population 87. Country and western singers JD and the Salt Flat 'Kid' decide to leave their township and make the 2,000-mile trip to Nashville and the 'big time'. The aspiring stars find plenty of adventures on the road to
Nashville. But their biggest problem is how to get noticed. With the help of a girlfriend, Marcie, JD devises an ingenious plan to get himself on the Grand Ole Opry House telecast....
