Tonight's edition of 2nd House explores in verse, drama, cartoon, documentary and song how our views of wedlock have been shifting in recent times from the Victorian belief in a life-long union entailing absolute fidelity.

Also appearing are the poets James Simmons, Alan Jackson, Roger McGough and Adrian Henri with Elaine Stritch reading poems by Dorothy Parker, plus interviews with married couples, with Daily Mirror columnist Marjorie Proops and Dr Prudence Tunnadine of the Institute of Psycho-Sexual Medicine.
