The title of Fellini's film, the last in this quartet of films about childhood, is Roman dialect for ' I remember' and the setting is a small seaside town in the 30s.
Titta and his friends have all the normal adolescent preoccupations of teenagers, but for their parents the Fascist regime is an ever-present fact of life. Only Uncle Teo, longtime resident of an insane asylum, can take refuge in a tree and proclaim his desires to the world.
