The Shrewsbury Floral Fete

on National Programme Daventry

View in Radio Times

The Massed Bands of His Majesty's Coldstream Guards, His Majesty's Scots Guards, His Majesty's Welsh Guards
(By permission of the officers commanding)
relayed from The Quarry, Shrewsbury
Conducted by Lieut. J. Causley Windram (Director of Music, Coldstream Guards)
(Midland Regional Programme)

This is the second day of the Shrewsbury Show, which is a musical as well as a floral fete, and an outstanding annual event for Salop. For over fifty years, music by Massed Guards Bands - not always the same three - has been a regular feature, and one of which both the City and the County are justly proud, for Shrewsbury is the only place in the provinces where Massed Guards Bands give a public performance.
