The State Visit of Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh to Italy

Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh arrive at Ostiense Station in Rome where the Italian President and Signora Gronchi greet them at the start of their State Visit.

After a short speech of welcome from the President, the Queen and the Duke drive to the Arch of Constantine beside the Colosseum to be met by the Mayor of Rome. The royal drive will then continue to the Quirinale Palace, escorted by the mounted guards of the President.
