The third of five programmes on the conservation of energy. Most of the large public projects of the last few years entailed the aid of vast amounts of energy. Others, like some new towns or hypermarkets, are economically based on a fast-expanding use of the private car. Must we now revise our assumptions and seek to change over to different patterns of living and travelling?
