Private Potter

on BBC Two England

Tonight's film in this season of British films by some of the distinguished directors and writers who brought a new style to the cinema in the 60s
Starring Tom Courtenay
with Mogens Wieth, Ronald Fraser, James Maxwell, Ralph Michael

Did Private Potter really have a vision in which he saw God, or was it merely an alibi for his cowardice in the face of action? Confronted with an unprecedented case, his Commanding Officer, although reluctant to take court-martial proceedings, is in an unenviable position.
Following his appearance in Billy Liar earlier in this season, Tom Courtenay gives another fine, and contrasted, performance.
