Don Quixote dreams of helping the oppressed by reviving the glory of Knight Errantry despite the important people of his village who try to 'bring him to his senses'. After many exciting adventures in the Spanish countryside his illusions are finally shattered but, on his deathbed, he has the last word concerning dreams and reality.
