Grand Prix: The French Grand Prix

on BBC Two England

The fans at Dijon-Prenois will be hoping for the first home victory in 30 years in motor racing's oldest Grand Prix. With Patrick Depailler on the sidelines after his hang-gliding accident, French hopes for their first-ever World Champion now rest on second-placed Jacques Laffite (Ligier). He is six points behind Ferrari's Jody Scheckter, the race-winner in Belgium and Monaco.
