The 1956 Festival of 'The Pearl of the Adriatic'.
A film made by the BBC Television Film Unit in co-operation with Filmske Novosti, Belgrade.
The beautiful walled city of Dubrovnik, formerly Ragusa, and justly known as 'The Pearl of the Adriatic', offers a semi-tropical setting for a unique annual festival of drama, folk-dancing, ballet, opera, and concerts, all held in the open air. This film recalls the varied impressions of five visitors, each with his own memories of sunshine and music.
(Previously televised on April 14)
