Tales from Overseas: The Lost Summer

on BBC One London

A film from Russia
A boy from Moscow, very much against his will, goes to stay with his three aunts who live in a small country town. He takes a friend with him, but when they reach their destination he goes off leaving his friend in his place. The aunts greet the abandoned lad enthusiastically, but to his horror he learns that they expect him to take part in a bicycle race, since he is a Moscow champion.
The film presents an unusually light-hearted view on youth in Russia today.
