The first of 13 programmes from Painswick House, Glos
The world's first televised bridge tournament returns, this time from a beautiful country house in Gloucestershire. The competition will be as fierce and the wit as sharp as ever, but this year the teams are battling for a spectacular purse of £8,000. Seventy-eight boards of bridge will be played over 13 weeks as the US team attempt to revenge their narrow defeat by the British team last year.
