Wild Flower Safari
Preparing 2,000 drawings and paintings for a book on alpine flowers means three years' hard work, during which time you must expect to hike up and down mountains, and sketch some 30 different species of wild flowers every day. Although in her early 60s, Marjorie Blarney works 12 to 15 hours daily - painting flowers. We journey with her and her husband as they travel through the British Isles, the Dordogne and the Pyrenees, searching for wild flowers and drawing and photographing the rarer specimens where they grow.
In little over ten years, from being a farmer's wife she has become one of this country's leading botanical illustrators.
