on BBC Two England

The story of The Tay Bridge

On 28 December 1879 a train with 75 passengers plunged from the Tay Bridge into the river below. One thousand yards of the central section had collapsed. There was an immediate enquiry and the original transcripts provide the source for this dramatisation.

"One of those historical documentaries that the BBC does supremely well" (Daily Telegraph)
