A weekly series of visits to music festivals around the world. Wolf Trap Salutes Leonard Bernstein
Last Friday was the 60th birthday of the conductor, composer and pianist, LEONARD BERNSTEIN. That evening - as part of the annual Festival at Wolf Trap Park, outside Washington DC - a number of Bernstein's friends from the world of music presented a concert in his honour.
The programme includes some of Bernstein's most popular and best known music - from West Side Story to the ' Lamentation' from his Jeremiah Symphony , from Candide to three songs from his new Songfest.
