Eye on Research: 3: Hazards of the Deep

on BBC Television

Working deep under water divers are severely hampered by the threat of a mental disturbance known as nitrogen narcosis. There is little warning and the results may cause fatality. Outside broadcast cameras visit the Royal Naval Physiological Laboratories at Gosport to see the effect of these hazards on a team of Naval volunteers, and to meet the scientists who are working to find methods of overcoming these effects.
