Last season Wakefield were the first Yorkshire club to top the Northern Merit Table and, with their two centres on the brink of English selection, they will provide very stiff opposition for the free-running Leicester backs who have helped their club win the title in the three consecutive years up to 1981 and reach the semi-final last season.
