Successive parish ministries in industrial Clydeside have convinced Dr. Whitley that the place of the family must be rediscovered in the life and worship of the Church. He particularly wants to remind the fathers of families of the principle proclaimed by John Knox long ago from this same historic pulpit of St. Giles, that every man is 'bishop and King' of his own household.
