Cannes 79
The film festival's main competition opened two weeks ago with the exuberance of Milos For-man's Hair and closed last night with the British entry, James Ivory 's controversial adaptation of Henry James 's The Europeans. In between were new films by Fellini, Wajda and Francis Ford Coppola's long-awaited treatment of the Vietnam War - Apocalypse Now.
Tony Palmer has been talking to critics, directors and actors in Cannes and brings news of the awards which are announced tonight.
