1: The Toolmaker
' Many people don' know what an edge tool's really for. They think it's anybody's job to make such a thing. Well it's not.'
(HAROLD POUND, Edge toolmaker)
HAROLD POUND works in a tiny forge in central London and has been in business as a toolmaker for over 60 years. Using an anvil made in 1784 and a lifetime of expert judgment, he makes with astonishing precision tools which have kept others in business, from sculptors and masons to woodcarvers and roadmen.
