Tom (Nigel Havers) is beginning to despair of ever reuniting his estranged parents. His father Toby (Tony Britton) is still living in his flat after three months, and apart from the strain, the arrangement is beginning to cramp Tom's style. But things begin to look considerably brighter when, thanks to a mutual friend, his parents meet up again and Toby invites his wife Angela (Dinah Sheridan) a way for a romantic weekend.
