Wheelbase: Mrs. Castle and Her Critics

on BBC Two England

Gordon Wilkins covers the world of motoring.

Mrs. Barbara Castle's new Transport Bill-among other things-aims to transfer long-distance freight from road to rail, and some lorry-drivers see this as a threat to their livelihood. At a transport cafe on the M 1, the road haulage men say why they oppose the Bill, and Mrs. Castle replies to their criticism from her office at the Ministry of Transport in London.
