You Are, Are You Not, Russell Harty?

To commemorate the tenth anniversary of his death on 8 June, this programme examines the life and career of Russell Harty, television interviewer and much-loved personality.

As well as tracing his upbringing in Blackburn and his time as an Oxford student and a young teacher, this tribute uses both archive footage and the recollections of his friends and colleagues to revisit some of his most memorable and amusing television interviews with various celebrities.

Featuring contributions from Michael Parkinson, Alan Bennett, Thelma Barlow, Gillian Reynolds, Richard Whiteley, Humphrey Burton and Ned Sherrin.
