Show of the Week: The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem sing Songs of the Sea

on BBC Two England

Tonight's programme of songs runs the whole gamut from sea shanties-or work songs-through to love ballads about loneliness on the sea such as 'Love is kind' and 'Blood-red roses'. Also included are a couple of humorous numbers: 'The Irish rover', and the story of a dry-land sailor called 'The good ship Calibar'.
