Indian Summers
With Donald Macleod. Heinrich
Schutz died in 1672 at the age of 87. He spent much of his long life in the service of the Emperor of Saxony in Dresden, and some of his greatest music was written in his last years. Schutz is the first composer in this week's exploration of composers who have enjoyed an Indian summer of composition.
