Anatomy of a Volcano
The eruption of Mount St Helens on 18 May 1980 was the scientific event of the year. This is its story, told largely from the point of view of the scientists who flocked to the north west USA at the first stirring of the volcano. They found themselves not just studying a geological event, but witnessing a catastrophe. Narrator RAY MOORE
Marvellous photography ... a unique close-up of both nature and scientists under pressure.
