A television ballet film from Poland which won the 1970 Italia Prize. It is a paraphrase of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth. Choreographed by Konrad Drzewiecki to music by J. S. Bach treated electronically by Eugeniusz Rudnik

followed by
A Recital by Galina Vishnevskaya and Mstislav Rostropovich
The celebrated cellist Mstislav Rostropovich is heard in an unusual role tonight when he accompanies his wife, soprano Galina Vishnevskaya, in songs by Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky.
This is followed by a performance of Bach's Suite No 3, in C major, for unaccompanied cello.
