First of four programmes that reclaim the history of the lives commemorated on Britain's war memorials.
Grantchester. Some 75 years after the First World War,
Grantchester reveals how the survivors of a passing generation are still haunted by their memories. This film looks at three soldiers commemorated on the stone cross in the village churchyard, typical of thousands built after 1918, and it explores the myth that surrounds one of them: poet Rupert Brooke.
