In 1958 a mine disaster at Springhill, Nova Scotia, trapped men 13,000 ft below the surface.
This dramatic reconstruction is a tribute to the extraordinary courage, ingenuity and stamina of those who survived. It begins with the banter of the miners as they make their way to the coal face, followed by the rumblings, the subsidence and a nightmare which lasted for days.
