Devlin, who helped Australia win the 1970 World Cup, is reigning 'Golfer of the Year' by right of his £23,000 victory in the Alcan championship last time he played in Ireland. Now he returns to represent The World at Portrush - only course outside the main-land to stage the Open Championship -against Wall, former American Masters champion, Ryder Cup player and big money-winner who has done nearly 40 holes in one!

Prize-money:$4,000 to the winner $2,000 to the loser
