The Smith Family from
Peterlee, County Durham. explain the reality of what it s like to be out of work. John Smith , 40, highly skilled and no stranger to working away from home, was made redundant after 17 years in work. His wife Carol manages the family finances on £90 per week. Her son John is 19 and has six 0-levels, but has never worked, while Paul, his younger brother, has only three and has always had a job.
