The Family: The After Years

on BBC Two England

In June 1974 transmissions of the controversial series, "The Family" came to an end. But life had to go on for the Wilkins of Reading.
Many thought the publicity and the curiosity that the series produced would destroy them; that television had perpetrated its greatest intrusion.
True or false?
This final, specially shot film tells of the eventful years that followed the original transmission. It portrays what in fact did happen to the Wilkins, after those few brief weeks of fame.
