A series of six programmes. Italian cookery expert and author Valentina Harris goes in search of the dishes which bring back memories of her childhood in Tuscany and Rome, such as the stews and iced puddings of Forte dei Marmi and the bean stews and wood-smoked meat and game of inland Tuscany. In her Tuscan home, Valentina demonstrates an old favourite of 'slaughterhouse' cuisine - oxtail with celery. The Lazio region provides the food: potato gnocchi with a luscious tomato sauce and chicken with rosemary and garlic.
