The first in an occasional series of programmes from America featuring some of Hollywood's most celebrated film directors. Tonight, to mark the opening on Friday of BBC1's season of Hitchcock's films, Hollywood's master of suspense talks about the making of some of his most famous films, from his early career in Britain in the era of the silent cinema to his classic Hollywood successes - with clips from "The Lodger", "Saboteur", "Shadow of a Doubt", "Notorious", "North by Northwest", "Psycho", "The Birds", "Torn Curtain" and "Frenzy".
