A series of six films made as part of the World of Islam Festival. 1: Unity
We know perhaps less about the Islamic world than we do even of the more remote cultures of India and China. This film series shows traditional Islamic civilisation as it can still be found in parts of the world, and introduces some of its basic ideas. The first film includes the annual pilgrimage to Mecca, the great caravan routes and trading pattern, and the attitude to warfare.
