Feature films with suspense, danger, excitement.
Starring Margaret Lockwood, Michael Redgrave
Did a frail old English governess vanish on a transcontinental express? Was there ever an old lady in the first place, or did the blow on the head that Iris Henderson received make her imagine that Miss Froy existed? A sinister doctor almost convinces her that she is suffering from hallucinations, but when one of his patients, swathed in bandages, is brought aboard the train accompanied by a nun, and the nun is wearing high-heeled shoes under her habit, Iris's suspicions are confirmed.
This is one of Alfred Hitchcock's finest films, made before he left Britain for Hollywood, and it contains all the ingredients we have come to expect from the master: comedy and horror, the normal and the abnormal, all adding up to an outstandingly exciting movie.
