Neil Kinnock: the Lost Leader

on BBC Two England

In his first major TV interview since he stood down in July, Kinnock assesses his leadership of the Labour Party. When he took over in 1983, Labour's long-term survival was in doubt. He transformed the party - defeating Militant, ending its commitment to unilateral nuclear disarmament and embracing the market economy. But the electorate still would not make him Prime Minister. With David Dimbleby.
(Neil Kinnock is a guest in "Have I Got News for You" at 8.35pm)
