He returned home with Angela Wade , who had just been sacked from the company, and discovered she was the daughter of a famous Q.C. Fickling threatened to give notice to Richard Fulton if he did not get rid of the dog he had iust bought; and, to add to Mr. Fulton's troubles, he was served with a writ for slander. Mrs. Freeman learned that Mrs. Cunningham had just won a good deal of money and instructed Sally's solicitors to write to Mrs. Cunningham requesting immediate settlement of her outstanding account with ' Sarah.'
