Car Wars

on BBC One London

The first of four programmes featuring the work of an elite police squad in the Bristol and West Country region. With up to 1,800 cars being stolen each month, high-speed chases causing damage and death, and teenagers making £1,000 weekly through wheel and tyre theft, the police were forced to admit to a situation out of control. They launched "Operation Impact" which saw the law fight back in what had become the car crime capital of Britain.
