Leonard Slatkin is one of America's outstanding conductors. Having spent many years with the St Louis Symphony Orchestra, he recently moved to Washington DC to become music director of the National
Symphony Orchestra. He is renowned for his performances of 20th-century repertoire and has partcular enthusiasm for the works of American, Russian and British composers.
