Janos Starker
In the course of his long career,
Janos Starker has established himself as one of the world's greatest cellists and finest teachers. In the last of three programmes, Moray Welsh finds out why Starker considers teaching the most important part of his life. Former pupils recount their often frightening experiences, and Starker plays his arrangement of Bottermund's Paganini Variations, Faure's Après un Rêve and Papillon, and two jewels of the repertoire - Haydn's Concerto in D and his latest recording of Bach's Suite No 6 for solo cello.
