Digging Up People

on BBC One London

The first of two films in which Chronicle pays tribute to the late Sir Mortimer Wheeler - archaeologist, soldier and television personality.
In 1973 he took Magnus Magnusson back to the landmarks in the first half of his life, from the battle of Passchendaele in 1917, to the battle of Maiden Castle, fought and lost by British tribes almost 2,000 years ago.
