William Beausire
In September 1973 the left-wing government of Chile, under President Allende, was violently overthrown by the Chilean armed forces. One year later, William Beausire , a British passport holder, fled the country for Europe. But en route in Argentina he was arrested, beaten up and subsequently returned to Chile, where he was held and tortured by the secret police.
